Students, faculty, staff, and prospective students can obtain help in exploring and understanding potential careers and gain assistance in choosing a college major. Members of the university community frequently seek services as a result of having difficulty choosing major, encountering academic difficulty in a previously chosen major or experiencing dissatisfaction with their current major/career path. The career counseling process involves scheduling an initial appointment with a counselor to discuss current concerns. After the initial appointment, you will be asked to take a variety of career and personality tests to better understand your career interests and match with your personal interests. The process ends with a feedback meeting with your counselor where you review the results of the inventories you completed, talk about your results in the context of your present career difficulties, and discuss a plan of action for you to take to resolve your present concern. If you have additional questions, or wish to schedule a career session, please call our front desk at (405) 325-2911 or 325-2700. |
