Counseling Services are initiated when an individual schedules an initial, intake appointment. The purpose of this appointment is to provide you with information about our various services and to discuss your concern(s) with a CTS staff member. The goal at the end of this appointment is to arrive at a mutually agreeable course of action to address your concern(s). This appointment typically lasts 45-minutes to one hour and can be scheduled by calling (405) 325 2911 or 325-2700.

Individual Counseling involves one to one counseling with your counselor and the goal is to explore aspects to your concern(s). A variety of approaches may be used to help you with the difficulties you are facing and develop a plan to address these issues. The counseling we provide is generally short-term in nature and will focus on helping you resolve the concern(s) that brought you in for services. Sessions generally occur weekly but can be less frequent as you begin to resolve your concern(s). Common concerns of individuals seeking this type of counseling generally include but are not limited to: anxiety, depression, decision making, relationship concerns, career choices, poor academic performance, bereavement, and adjustment issues (i.e. loss of a relationship, transition to college, etc.).

Individual counseling services are available to all students, faculty and staff of the university. Dependents or spouse of students, faculty, and staff are not eligible for these services but are eligible for the couples/family services.
