As an affirmation to the OU community of the service's commitment to high quality, efficient primary care, it was decided in 1996 to seek accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). Accreditation followed a short time later in January 1997 when OUHS received its first three-year accreditation; a successful review and an additional three year accreditation followed in January 2000, January 2003, and most recently in January 2006.
