Scheduling Your Appointment

Making an appointment with a provider is simple.
Call 325-4441 and press 1.
2. For Women's Center.
3. To speak with a nurse.

You may also stop by the appointment desk.

You will be asked:
  • Some basic demographic information
  • To select an appointment date and time
    (or if you prefer, the first available appointment)
  • To select a provider (or if you prefer, the first available provider)
  • To describe the reason(s) for your visit*
     
    *A specific amount of time will be allotted for your appointment based  on your reason(s).

Your Appointment  ^ Top

When you check in at the reception desk, you will be given a copy of the Notice of Privacy Practices and asked to sign both Acknowledgement and Consent form.

  • You will then be escorted to your provider’s waiting area. 
    If this is your first visit, you will be asked to complete a Patient Database form.
  • Your provider’s Medical Assistant will take you to an examination room, record pertinent information about your condition in your medical record, and take your vital signs and prepare you for your exam.
  • Your provider will address the reason(s) that you gave for your visit, and in some cases, you may be instructed to have some additional tests, be referred to a specialist, and/or schedule a follow-up appointment. 

            
Appointment Cancellations  ^ Top

To cancel or reschedule your appointment, please call 325-CANCEL(2262) and press 1. OU Health Services will assess a $10 fee for all missed appointments. Please keep your scheduled appointment.

Check in Procedure for All Patients  ^ Top

  • Please arrive 10* minutes PRIOR to your scheduled appointment to allow sufficient time for check-in.

    * Patients with Women's Center appointments should arrive 15 minutes early.

  • If you are late for your appointment, you may be asked to reschedule at a later date, depending on your provider's schedule.
  • The amount of time scheduled for your appointment is based on the medical complaint or reason you provide when making your appointment.
    (Therefore, additional complaints may require an additional appointment(s) at a later date.)
  • Please cancel your appointment at least one hour prior to the appointment time to avoid the $10 "No Show" charge.

Students  ^ Top

  • Bring your OU Photo ID.
  • Questions pertaining to service costs should be directed to our Business Office.
  • If you have been charged the health fee, you may pay at the time of your visit or charge the fee for service to your bursar account.
  • Students who have not been charged the health fee, spouses and children of students may receive care at standard rates.

OU Faculty and Staff  ^ Top

  • Bring your Insurance Card.
  • Co-pays are due prior to check-in. 

Private Pay  ^ Top

  • Staff, spouses and children not covered by the University’s insurance may receive care at standard rates, and must pay at the time of service.
